Mr Williams

Hywel Williams' sub-specialty interest is that of shoulder and elbow surgery, in particular, the arthroscopic treatment of sports-related injuries of the shoulder and rotator cuff problems. He also has a wide experience in treating degenerative problems of the shoulder with surface replacement arthroplasty.

He also treats a wide variety of elbow conditions, employing arthroscopic techniques when possible. He also has experience in elbow replacement surgery.

Hywel Williams trained in Orthopaedics in Cardiff and Yorkshire. He undertook a one year Fellowship with Mr Steve Copeland in Reading in 1996. This year included time spent in Germany and Austria. He was the winner of the Kessel Prize at the British Elbow & Shoulder Society meeting in 1997.

He was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in York in 1999, where he introduced modern day techniques in shoulder and elbow surgery.
